Master John Jensen began his Tang Soo Do training in 1988 in Dubuque, Iowa, under the instruction of Master David Schmitt, with Master Ted Rolling serving as his primary instructor at the time. He later relocated to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he continued his training under Master Lee Mattox.

Through his continued dedication, Master Jensen earned his Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in 1995. He remained committed to his development within the art and was promoted to Sah Dan (4th Degree Black Belt), Master, in 2016.

Master Jensen currently serves as the Chief Instructor of the Waverly Karate Club in Waverly, Iowa. He is known for his emphasis on ground fighting, sparring, Ho Sin Sul (self-defense), and Hyungs (forms), and has generously shared his knowledge through participation in numerous training clinics.
